Tom G McEwan is a songwriter based in Pitlochry, Scotland. He grew up in Edinburgh and in Washington DC, before studying at St Andrews. Over the next decade he built a reputation in colleges and folk clubs as a singer-songwriter, releasing four albums, before getting day jobs when he started a family.
Single again, he found himself in Detroit MI for a year, with side trips to Nashville, Chicago and NY, recording a live EP, before returning to the UK and releasing two more albums. There he launched Edinburgh Songwriters Showcase, an open mic which he modelled on the Bluebird Cafe, and produced a collaborative CD, Gallery, from nine of the participating songwriters.
Neurosurgery put paid to music for a while, but he returned with his seventh album, Promises.
